During the day recreation usually takes place on deck or in the water.   In the evenings the salon offers space for groups to meet.  

When Fir was first built, a petty officers dining area was included below deck, at the stern.  Based on our evaluation of current furnishing, the space was last utilized as a bar.   It is below the waterline so there are no windows, and it is well away from the staterooms. Our idea is to turn this are into a home theater.
