The gangway is a complex design concern.  It determines how people board tenders as well as the passenger entry to Fir. 

Currently, we have an erroneous ladder tied to the side of our old buoy deck leading to Fir's most inhospitable entrance.  Everyone and everything that goes aboard Fir goes up this ladder.  Individuals can enter the Galley from the old buoy deck through a d6 sea-dog door, or climb a ladder to the 02 deck.

Although it is possible to enter the 02 deck from the gangway, this is 20 feet or more above the water line. Appropriate for a Coast Guard base, but not a suitable method for our intentions.  Fir did have doors on the 01 deck.  Unfortunately, these have been removed and replaced with welded plates to restrict access.
